Celebrity Jeweler Hosts Trunk Show on Sanibel
Lily & Co. Jewelers, America’s coolest jewelry store, will host a two-day trunk show on Nov. 15 and 16 featuring celebrity jewelry designer Doron Hakimian.
Hakimian, president and chief designer of Doves by Doron Paloma, has created exclusive designs for celebrities ranging from First Lady Michelle Obama to Jennifer Lopez and Catherine Zeta-Jones. He is widely considered among the world’s biggest names in the luxury jewelry industry.
“We’re thrilled to host Doron for the third year in a row on Sanibel, where he will reveal the treasures he creates using 18-karat gold, diamonds and precious gemstones,” says Dan Schuyler, co-owner of Lily & Co. Jewelers with Realtor Karen Bell. “The trunk show will feature jewelry inspired by the beauty of nature that surrounds us on Sanibel.”
The trunk show will take place on Nov. 15 and 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lily & Co. Jewelers, 520 Tarpon Bay Road, Sanibel. The event coincides with the Swing for Hope tennis and pickleball tournament Lily & Co. Jewelers is sponsoring at Beachview Tennis Club on Nov. 16 to benefit Community Housing and Resources, the affordable-housing nonprofit on Sanibel.
Hakimian is an avid tennis player who was introduced to Schuyler through mutual friend and tennis coaching legend Nick Bollettieri, founder of IMG Academy. Together they will participate in the day-long tennis and pickleball Swing for Hope fundraiser that will include tennis clinics and round-robin tournaments with Bollettieri and other professionals. In addition, court-side games with prizes and raffles will include a special jewelry treasure by Doron.
“Modern elegance and refined artistry are the hallmarks of Doves by Doron Paloma jewelry and we’re grateful for Doron’s gift to the tournament and his contribution to affordable housing on the island,” says Schuyler.
Trained as an architect, Hakimian begins each jewelry creation with a paper and sketch. He grew up in a family of precious gem-stone manufacturers and later discovered a passion for jewelry when he spent a summer sketching designs for his family’s business. His gift for drawing combined with an architect’s eye for detail proved to be a winning formula for creating masterpieces that are in high demand all over the world.
“Dan, Karen and Nick have the same passion for giving back to their community as I do,” says Hakimian. “This event is just a small part of what they do for their neighbors and I’m thrilled to participate in this benefit.”
All the proceeds of the Swing for Hope event will benefit Community Housing and Resources. The nonprofit organization provides affordable housing for 150 people with 74 rental homes and 14 limited equity homes on Sanibel.
Doron Hakimian will also take part in the Swing for Hope charity tennis and pickleball tournament on the island.
