Lily & Co. Jewelers invites you to be a part of a weekend of community support starting with Under the Sea Saturday, January 30, benefiting The Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum. It ends with the Sanibel Captiva Heart Walk Sunday, January 31, benefiting the American Heart Association.
“These are two very important events taking place in our community and we are delighted to be a part of them,” say Owners Karen Bell and Dan Schuyler. “We invite you to show your support for our wonderful Shell Museum and the Heart Association which fights our nation’s number one killer, heart disease.”
The Sanibel Captiva Heart Walk starts near Lily & Co., at the corner of Island Inn Road and Tarpon Road. The American Heart Association is the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat and defeat heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases. Those diseases claim more than 800,000 American lives each year, according to AHA. It is the walkers, donors such as Lily & Co., and volunteers who accept the challenge to fight heart disease which allows the AHA mission to continue.
The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum will host its premier fund-raising event for a night at the museum. Guests will enjoy dining and great entertainment while supporting the work of the museum – a must-see for any Sanibel Island visitor. It is home to more than 30 permanent installations, an impressive gift shop and hosts events all year long.
“Sanibel is one of the best shelling beaches in the world, so it is fitting the island have a nationally recognized Shell Museum,” say Karen and Dan.
